Meet finalists of ABSL Start-up Challenge 2019!


This year’s edition of ABSL Start-Up Challenge saw 101 applications from all over the world. The competition was tough and choosing the final 6 was no easy task. Together with our Partners, we managed to select the absolute best of the best, who presented their incredible ideas at the main stage of ABSL Summit in Warsaw. Now that the finale is behind us, we would like to present the profiles of all 6 finalists and their presentations, which you will find below!

Here they are:

Symmetrical.ai

The winner of the ABSL Start-Up Challenge. Symmetrical.ai is a credit cloud powered by financial service-as-a-code architecture. This start-up proposed a new type of employee benefits, based on fintech tools improving financial liquidity. The company provides a salary finance solution that can make everyday a pay day to increase employee retention, productivity and satisfaction for corporations. Symmetrical.ai raised USD 1.5 million seed funding in May 2019. The company was rewarded with the main prize by the Jury – including participation in Polish Tech Day in London – the audience and HSBC – the latter of which comprised of a trip to Helsinki for the Slush 2019 event.

Smabbler

Smabbler received a special award from BNY Mellon – a chance to participate in the semantic parsing session with BNY’s core digital team in New York. Smabbler is a start-up from Wrocław, utilizing new IT technologies to automate document analysis. They develop a general-purpose single system that uses human language abilities to fully automate workflow involving complex and unstructured text. Through fully automated NLP analysis, it transforms any text data into precisely extracted and structured knowledge to support multiple systems, processes or people.

Simporter

Simporter uses artificial intelligence and a wide range of market data to support sales processes. The company predicts future product sales for both eCommerce and bricks-and-mortar suppliers by combining both retail and social media data with AI. Finalist from the Sales & Marketing category.

Ulitmate.ai

This Finnish start-up increases the effectiveness of communication between companies and clients by including learning algorithms and artificial intelligence in the process. Ultimate.ai’s proprietary deep learning technology enables customer service automation in all languages. Finalist from the Fintech category.

Veturai

Veturai aims to significantly increase the effectiveness of outdoor ad campaigns basing on artificial intelligence and image analysis. This company also has industry experience working for international media and financial companies and track record of delivering machine learning models and data-driven products.

Multilesson

A Polish company revolutionizing the approach of companies towards helping their employees learn foreign languages in a flexible way. Multilesson offers a monthly subscription for any chosen language, which the employee will be able to learn at the time they choose.
