The Entrepreneurship Council's stance on PFR's mass lawsuits for Financial Shield subsidy refunds
The Entrepreneurship Council, of which ABSL is a member, has issued an appeal regarding the mass lawsuits by the Polish Development Fund (PFR) for the return of subsidies from the Financial Shields. These subsidies were originally granted to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic to support financial stability and protect jobs.
PFR is increasingly demanding the return of these subsidies, citing irregularities in the applications and adjustments made by the beneficiaries. This situation has sparked controversy, as many companies now face the necessity of returning the received funds. The Ombudsman for SMEs has intervened, arguing that PFR should consider the original objectives of the government programs and not penalize entrepreneurs for issues arising from unclear or changing regulations.
The appeal from the Entrepreneurship Council (in Polish) can be found under this link.
