Connected by Skanska – smart operating system for office users

Connected by Skanska is an operating system created by Skanska for all office users as well as tenants and administrators. Thanks to a dedicated mobile application, everyday users can enter the office by using a smartphone, invite guests through a virtual reception or find colleagues in office. The system works as an open platform that integrates building technologies, connects people in their workplace and allows to manage office space. This is the first of this type technology in the office development industry in the CEE region. Connected by Skanska is designed to facilitate everyday use of the building for users and tenant’s guests. Please find a short film showing the system:

The system works in three dimensions:

Connected Building – integrates social functions (like a building guide, social wall, car sharing, events, restaurant’s menu, etc.) with intelligent building infrastructure, such as mobile access, activity based parking, virtual reception or possibility to report faults, etc.

Connected Fit Out – integrates functionalities in office space which allow you to find a suitable place to work, book a room, or control lighting and temperature by mobile application.

Connected Green – increases the awareness of users and improves the standard of office fit-out in terms of eco solutions when applying for LEED and WELL certificates for interiors.

Spark and the headquarter of Skanska in Warsaw is the first office in the world fully equipped with the Connected by Skanska system. Thanks to it, building users can benefit from many facilities related to the infrastructure and office space. By the mobile app, employees can enter the building without the use of traditional access cards, use the intelligent activity based parking system, which reads car plates and assigns parking spot in an optimal way. Spark users can also use a virtual reception, thanks to which employees can create a virtual invitations for outside guests. When it comes to daily use of office space, mobile application allows to book meeting rooms, control lighting and temperature in different spaces. The solution proposed by Skanska is also useful for Spark building managers – they can change the person’s access settings for both – plastic access card as well as virtual card, or send announcements to all users of the building. Connected by Skanska system created in cooperation with Sharry Europe (technology and implementation partner) and Estimote (technological partner and beacon supplier) used in the Spark complex in Warsaw will be available in all Skanska office projects in the CEE region.
